The saga that is the Washington Redskins lately took yet another turn on Monday when they fired head coach Mike Shanahan after the team wrapped up a 3-13 campaign on Sunday with a loss to the New York Giants, putting the icing on the cake of one of the worst year’s in franchise history.

Four years ago when they hired Shanahan, things weren’t supposed to go this way. Things were supposed to be especially great after they drafted Heisman winner Robert Griffin III prior to last season, who went on to have one of the better rookie seasons in recent memory.

A two-time Super Bowl-winning coach with a Heisman winner to run his team. What could possibly go wrong?

But now, here they are in search of a new man to lead up one of the more historical franchises in the National Football League.

So, where do you start with a search?

Well, for starters, how bout you begin with another famous name who also has a Lombardi Trophy in his case at home.

According to Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post, team owner Dan Snyder has already met with former Pittsburgh Steelers coach–twice:

Let the speculation begin on this one, although it would make sense. The current CBS broadcaster left the NFL reportedly to watch his daughters grow up, which is all about finished at this point. So, is ‘The Chin’ getting the itch to get back into the game, and if so, is Washington a good fit?
