The Minnesota Vikings have already started the search for their head coaching vacancy. Presumably it has been known in the front office for a while now that Leslie Frazier would be fired, and that seems to be the case based on the fact that they are already lining up possible candidates.

Reports surfaced today that Minnesota would pursue Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. Jason LaConfora of CBS reports that the Vikings have actually requested an interview with Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as well:

It’s only natural that Quinn, the man in charge of arguably the most intimidating defense in the entire NFL, will be at the top of a number of lists this off-season. It seems a little surprising that Bevell would generate interest, as Seattle’s offense has been mediocre at times this year. Then again, there is still a versatility that comes with the personnel in that offense that might make Bevell appealing.

Winning creates opportunities. In a similar situation Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, in charge of a leaky defense, is also at the top of some lists. Given their recent run of success, it makes sense that teams are interested in plucking from the Seahawks coaching staff.
