The Carolina Panthers don’t know who they’ll be playing on January 12th, but they do know how they’ll be dressed.

Thanks to a first round bye, the Panthers will be sitting comfortably at home watching the Green Bay Packers host the San Francisco 49ers, with the winner of that Wild Card game likely to play the Carolina Panthers the following week.

When they do, they’ll be greeted by the Panthers intimidating black-on-black uniform, according to the team Twitter page who announced the change Wednesday morning:

"The #Panthers will wear black jerseys and black pants for the January 12th playoff game at Bank of America Stadium!"

Carolina doesn’t bring out the black-on-black very often, normally opting for their home black and silver (mixed with Carolina blue).

Hopefully next season the Panthers get even a little more creative and opt for a helmet color change for the all-black ensemble. Would look pretty slick with the all-black uniform, which is among the best alternate in the league. Heck – mixed with the silver and Carolina blue, it’s one of the best, period.
