Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is pretty misunderstood.

Yes, he’s had his moments on the field that you expect a leader to avoid but for the most part, Bryant is a wonderful presence in the Dallas Cowboys locker room and is a favorite of his teammates.

He’s also a favorite of local writers who voted Bryant as the winner of their annual ‘Good Guy’ award, this according to Dallas Morning News:

"This season, he was honored for his consistent and outstanding cooperation with the local beat reporters. Dez Bryant received the team’s “Good Guy” award given by the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America."

Bryant always made himself available to reporters – win or lose – and never ducked questions.

It’s been a struggle for Bryant to stay out of trouble, both on and off-field in recent seasons but this certainly is a step in the right direction.

Hopefully for Bryant and the Cowboys, it’s something that will continue moving forward as the wide receiver attempts to emerge as a leader.
