The NFL may find themselves in a bit of a predicament if the Green Bay Packers don’t start selling more tickets to their playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday morning suggesting that multiple NFL teams still had ‘thousands’ of tickets available for their Wild Card games this weekend. However, the vast majority of those teams reduced the number overnight – but not the Packers who still have over 8,500 tickets available for the Sunday afternoon game:

"Green Bay Packers tell me they’ve got 8,500 tickets remaining for their playoff game."

For what it’s worth, there is still plenty of time to sell tickets and a according to an NFL executive, a popular team struggling to sell playoff tickets on short notice isn’t uncommon:

"Spoke with an NFL team exec who said Packers’ situation–a marquee team struggling to sell playoff tix in quick turnaround–is fairly common"

I’m not exactly sure I buy that – rather, the excessive average price ($240 dollars) is likely attributing to the slower sales.
