Oakland Raiders looking to give assistant coaches one-year deals

Although there was some speculation following Sunday that the Oakland Raiders may overhaul the coaching staff–again–it seems that they ultimately have decided to keep going forward with head coach Dennis Allen and staff. Allen will meet with Raiders brass on Monday to see if this can be confirmed.

There is a report now, however, from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport that Allen will be back in 2014, as will his assistant. But this report also indicates that 2014 will be their final shot to turn everything around in Oakland, or at least get it headed more in the right direction.

According to Rapoport, the Raiders are trying to give the assistants on staff just one-year extensions on their expiring contracts, which means that it would be do-or-die next season for the men in charge.

Basically, in Layman’s terms, no pressure or anything, Raiders coaches.

Im waiting with MD too see the playoffs this weekend before making any judgements. Its my belief that MD is ready and willing to make a change with Wisenhunt who will most likely become available after this weekend. I dont think MD cares for the way TP has been treated given his fathers last pick that has shown signs of what can be developed but DA is not doing it. Bottom line, when DA went with MM is when the season tanked and especially throwing TP in on the last game against the leagues best after riding a 5 game losing streak..MD is no idiot. He sees all this and more. If he cant nail down Wise then he delivets DA and staff the ultimatum. MD will not let TP go. That would be stupid!

TP? TP can be slotted in at WR or TE. His days starting at QB for the Raiders are OVER!
Reggie will be drafting the best available QB, that I would bet my house on.
Bartles, Manziel, or Carr will be A Raider next year.
TP fans just don’t get it. TP is not a legitimate starting QB in the NFL.
Unless TP is willing to change positions to play in the NFL, No team Is going to be interested in Terelle Pryor as a QB.

Pj your right I’m freakin scratching my head as well DA get your head out of the bottom of the toilet stop being a spoil sport TP is the man

  • Silvia Arredondo

That is a good ide that way they see that they are under pressure and if they can’t do anything next season then they have lost their shots!

This is really a waste of time once again.

There’s no time for TP he’s too much of a project he went 3-7 as a starter and looked better early in the season than late and never played a complete game only good for one half then garbage MM not the answer either but coaches need one more year with serviceable players to determine worth considering they started the season with what was considered the least talented team in the league and would be lucky to win one game they overachieved and earned one more year
