
The Chicago Bears and quarterback Jay Cutler have agreed to a new seven-year deal through 2020. According to Chicago Tribune’s Brad Briggs a deal has been signed.

It is interesting cause their was some expectations that they would let him go and keep Josh McCown. What might be more surprising is the per-year tag. According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, Cutler’s deal averages $18 million per year for the first three years of the contract.

Extension for Lions QB Matthew Stafford came in at $17.6 million per year avg. Bears QB Jay Cutler's 7-yr deal figures to be slightly north.

That is a lot of money for someone who wasn’t a lock to get his job back when he returned from injury.
