According to reports, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reached an agreement for Lovie Smith to replace Greg Schiano as head coach. Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk.com suggested that it might be in the Bucs best interest to make their next big roster move the release of cornerback Darrelle Revis.

The corner was a big signing to bolster the defense and releasing him would be a big cap saving move. Revis has a contract that pays him $16 million per year with no guaranteed money or anything that would trigger a cap hit.

Revis doesn’t think his time with the team is coming to an end. On Twitter, Revis said that he is looking forward to his future with the team and working with Smith.
