The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (phew) have decided to give veteran pitcher Mark Mulder a shot but may have another arm in mind.

We all know about the buzz surrounding right handed Japanese phenom Masahiro Tanaka. He’s becoming one of the hottest free agents (mid-offseason) and already has teams lining up to sign him. Anybody who picks up Tanaka will have added an ace to their rotation.

Hopefully the young man is able to stay healthy enough and doesn’t fall to anything serious. It’ll be a shame if he gets picked up and ends up having to have Tommy John Surgery. Fingers crossed, all that good juju. Now the Chicago Cubs and the New York Yankees emerged as possible favorites, but they could have some company with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

That team name is long. Anyways, Tanaka could possibly join the likes of Jered Weaver, C.J. Wilson, Mark Mulder,Garrett Richards and Hector Santiago. This is something that the team needed to do everything they possibly could to improve this off-season.

According to Ball Shaikin on Twitter, the Angels are very interested in Masahiro Tanaka. Tanaka being added to this rotation would surely make them a favorite once again in the American League West.

Even tho I’m a Chicago Cubs fan and would love Tanaka to end up with the North Siders, my dream match up could happen a few times if he ends up in Los Angeles.
