Veteran right handed reliever Carlos Marmol didn’t  have himself that bad of a second half with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being traded by the Chicago Cubs.

A team that he has struggled with over the last couple of years. Marmol was able to get his pitches under control and once led the league in holds while with the North Siders. But he always had those ‘Watch out, here comes Carlos Marmol’ moments.

You know, where the Cubs would have the lead and he would come in and just hit a couple batters while loading up the bases. I know it was always frustrating for me to watch consider I’m a Cubs fan. So I was a bit relieved when I found out that Marmol was going to be traded.

For awhile I thought maybe nobody wanted him at all, but I was wrong. Marmol pitched in 21 1/3 innings with the Dodgers and struck out 27 batters while posting a 2.53 ERA.

He obviously did enough to get the attention of teams this off-season. According to Tim Dierkes on Twitter, the hard throwing Marmol has discussed some deals with three different Major League teams.

No word on who they were, but he could get picked up sooner than expected.
