Poll ranks Dallas Cowboys as America’s least favorite team
By Bryan Rose
The Dallas Cowboys are thought to be ‘America’s Team’ – at least, that’s what owner Jerry Jones wants us to believe. After all, there’s a hole in the roof of AT&T Stadium so ‘God’ can watch his team, right?
Well – not so much.
Not only are the Cowboys not ‘America’s Team’ according to a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP), but they’re actually the least favorite.
Per CBS Sports:
"In a poll of 741 registered voters, 23 percent of respondents said that the Cowboys were their least favorite team in the NFL. The only other team to be named by over 10 percent of respondents was the Chicago Bears, who are disliked by 13 percent of America. That number probably isn’t going to do down now that Jay Cutler is locked in as the Bears quarterback until 2020."
So who came out on top as America’s favorite team? Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos, who claimed 14% of the vote.
Coming in second, oddly enough, were the aforementioned Cowboys who despite being voted as the most disliked team had the backing of their fans as 12 percent voted them as their favorite NFL squad.
The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears came in third and fourth respectively.
