The San Francisco 49ers and quarterback Colin Kaepernick were once again able to charge past the Green Bay Packers, but this win was the closest one yet. Kicker Phil Dawson was able to boot the ball through the uprights for the game-winning field goal as time expired, but it was nearly blocked.

Just how close was the ball to being blocked? It went directly through the arms of Packers defensive back Davon House. Literally.

If you don’t believe that, all you have to do is look at the GIF below:

They always said that football is a game of inches, but this clip truly proves that.

To be fair, House was flagged for being offsides on the play, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that a block would have forced the 49ers to re-kick.

It is a loss that will sting for Green Bay fans, while the 49ers celebrate and advance in the postseason. With the win, the 49ers are set to take on the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte next weekend in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
