Chicago Bears quarterback Josh McCown became a fan favorite this season when he starred in relief of an injured Jay Cutler who was resigned to a seven-year deal for a maximum value of $126 million a week ago, and there is a good chance according to Dan Pompei that McCown will get a deal from the Bears as well.

"“I think the chances are good Josh McCown will be back in Chicago. He is valued, respected and liked at every level of the organization. The only question is what does McCown want? He will be the most pursued No. 2 quarterback in free agency unless he is signed before his contract expires. He will be given some attractive offers.”"

Pompei continued saying McCown and his family are happy in Chicago and the only thing that could prevent the two sides form continuing their relationship would be another team giving him an opportunity to start.

With a number of quality quarterbacks entering the NFL draft this year looking like more attractive options than McCown who will be 35 next season. Resigning McCown should be a priority for the Bears to backup Cutler who has a reputation for being prone to injury.
