Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall lobbied hard for his teammate Alshon Jeffery to make it into the Pro Bowl. At the time Marshall said “it would be a shame” if Jeffrey didn’t get in, and he didn’t.

‘‘He has confidence about himself,’’ Marshall said, via Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times. ‘‘Last year we sat down and talked about goals, and his goal was to make the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Some older guys would look at that kid like, ‘You’re ridiculous.’ I looked at it and said, ‘Hey, I’ve got the same attitude. You’ve got to dream big. If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody will.’

“I respected him for that. [So] everybody out there, you need to vote for Alshon Jeffery, Pro Bowl.’’

Marshall made an appearance on “Around The League” and was asked who is better than Marshall. He listed Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson and “Alshon Jeffery,” Marshall said.

Marshall still was confident in his abilities though.

“We are two different receivers,” Marshall said. “…If I had to build an organization the first receiver I’d pick is myself. I have that much confidence in myself.”
