Many believe that San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt is the favorite to fill the Detroit Lions head coaching vacancy when it is all said and done, but they are adding at least one more candidate to their list of interviewees before making a final decision.

According to reports, the Lions are set to interview former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak on Friday.

From Ed Werder of ESPN:

Munchak was fired from the Titans after three seasons when he refused to fire some of his assistants, but that won’t be stopping him from getting at least one more look for a top coaching job.

If Munchak doesn’t end up with the Lions this year, the Penn State opening could also be a chance for him to prove himself and work towards getting back to the NFL.
