The folks over at Bovada have been kind enough to send over the latest NBA odds.
Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo began the season as the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award, but was quickly surpassed by Philadelphia 76ers’ point guard Michael Carter-Williams, who has been posting huge numbers since his debut. Utah Jazz point guard Trey Burke, who began the season injured, is now right on Burke’s heels.
2013-14 Rookie of the Year – Odds to Win
Michael Carter-Williams (PHI) 5/4
Trey Burke (UT) 2/1
Victor Oladipo (ORL) 5/2
Tim Hardaway Jr. (NY) 12/1
Ben McLemore (SAC) 15/1
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) 20/1
Carter-Williams is putting up 17.7 points, 7.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.
Burke, the ninth overall pick in this year’s draft, has made the Jazz a competitive team after they initially looked like they may be the worst team in the league. Burke is putting up 13.2 points, 5.2 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game and the Jazz have won three of four games.
Like most rookies, Oladipo has been up and down. The return of Tobias Harris to the Magic’s lineup has taken Oladipo out of the starting five. He’s averaging 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Hardaway, Jr. has provided a huge lift for the Knicks, but is only playing 18.6 minutes per game. He’s putting up 8.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.
Kings guard Ben McLemore has been extremely inconsistent, but is having a nice rookie season, averaging 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is putting up 6.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, has become a fan favorite in Milwaukee.
