For one reason or another, Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden is a hot coaching candidate. A number of teams have been interested in signing Gruden as the team’s head coach, but it looks like one is closer than any of the others.

According to reports, Gruden is in the final stages of becoming the Washington Redskins head football coach.

From Jeff Darlington of the NFL Network:

If Gruden becomes the head coach, it must mean that he has the full support of quarterback Robert Griffin III.

It would certainly be interesting to see how things play out, but Gruden becoming the Redskins coach could either be a big mistake or stroke of genius.

We will have to wait and see how it all plays out.
