The Oakland Raiders have a solid left tackle in Jared Veldheer, but he is headed towards free agency. In a radio interview, Veldheer said that he “really wants to stay in Oakland,” but nothing is happening in terms of contract negotiations.
There is still two months before free agency starts, so there is plenty of time to get a deal worked out. Veldheer also confirmed the obvious, that the franchise tag could get used on him. Like other players, I’m sure Veldheer would prefer to get a contract worked out instead of playing under the one-year deal that comes with the tag.

Veldheer isn't sweating it because roughly 2 months until start of free agency. Admits franchise tag could potentially be used @RAIDERS
