The Carolina Panthers and the San Francisco 49ers will battle it out for a spot in the NFC Championship game tomorrow in Charlotte. These two teams came together during the regular season which resulted in the Panthers walking away with a one point victory over the 49ers on their home turf.

Carolina’s veteran wide receiver Steve Smith has been dealing with a knee issue for awhile and was down to around 59 percent earlier in the week. Then he upgraded himself to around 90 percent but still expects to play tomorrow against Colin Kaepernick and the strong 49er defense according to Jonathan Jones on Twitter.

I’m sure Smith would have played even if he was below 80 percent. This team has a great chance to reach the NFC Championship for the fourth time in franchise history. The last time they won the conference they dropped to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl back in 2003.

This defense has played excellent and their offense is getting stronger. With Cam Newton and Steve Smith leading the charge offensively, this squad will only get better.
