The NFC divisional playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks was a nail-biter that came down to the wire after New Orleans successfully converted an onside kick. Unfortunately for the Saints, one boneheaded play brought an end to their chances of winning the game.

Drew Brees hit a wide open Marques Colston on the sideline and he could have stepped out of bounds with little effort. That would have stopped the clock and the Saints would have had eight seconds to take a shot into the endzone from the 37-yard line, but a poor decision by Colston ended any hopes for New Orleans.

Colston inexplicably took a step towards the center of the field, before throwing a forward pass across the field.

The play was flagged for an illegal forward pass and a ten second run-off took the clock to zero. It will be interesting to see what explanation Colston gives for throwing the game away.
