NBA Rumors: Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets eyeing Andrew Bynum

With Andrew Bynum clearing waivers this week after being traded to and then cut by the Chicago Bulls, he has a much anticipated free agent decision ahead of him to figure out. While it may not seem like a guy as troubled a Bynum would be drawing  a lot of attention, some of the top teams in the league are looking at possibly offering him a contract.

Ever since he was cut by the Bulls, the Miami Heat have been mentioned as the favorites to land Bynum, but two other teams have been mentioned as well. According to Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Bynum may get contract offers from the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets this upcoming week.

This may bother people who think Bynum is being rewarded for bailing on playing with lesser teams, but the NBA isn’t a game that cares much about anything other than winning titles. Bynum is a big body to strategize with and that’s something teams in the title hunt can use.

There’s no guarantee that the Pacers or Rockets or even the Heat will offer him a deal, but Bynum will likely end up with a contender by the end of next week.

as a pacer fan I am worried about what this bum will do to the team chemistry or if he will even will even be healthy enough to play if they sign him. and if they do, it better be for the min. and nothing more. if he is willing to play for that then it shows he is serious if not then the pacers risk ruining everything they have worked for by paying him a couple of million bucks to do nothing. this jerk has done nothing but steal money and destroy the hopes of 2 teams since he left the lakers and the lakers could not wait to get rid of him so that says allot to.

If he’s gonna play, he’d be good depth. Especially if asiks knee doesnt get right. Hey, if he plays for the minimum salary, morey will sign him. Who is the source of this news besides Josh Hill?
