With Andrew Bynum clearing waivers this week after being traded to and then cut by the Chicago Bulls, he has a much anticipated free agent decision ahead of him to figure out. While it may not seem like a guy as troubled a Bynum would be drawing  a lot of attention, some of the top teams in the league are looking at possibly offering him a contract.

Ever since he was cut by the Bulls, the Miami Heat have been mentioned as the favorites to land Bynum, but two other teams have been mentioned as well. According to Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Bynum may get contract offers from the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets this upcoming week.

This may bother people who think Bynum is being rewarded for bailing on playing with lesser teams, but the NBA isn’t a game that cares much about anything other than winning titles. Bynum is a big body to strategize with and that’s something teams in the title hunt can use.

There’s no guarantee that the Pacers or Rockets or even the Heat will offer him a deal, but Bynum will likely end up with a contender by the end of next week.
