The Kansas City Chiefs were one of the hottest teams in the league after having themselves a rough 2012 season. I knew this team would do great things, but I didn’t expect them to be great right away.

I figured this would be a playoff team and possible number one seed contender in the future. The addition of head coach Andy Reid and starting quarterback Alex Smith did some wonders for this team. Of course some guys who have been on this team for awhile did great things as well.

Now that they’ve been eliminated from the playoffs, they’ll have to deal with some things that every team has to deal with over the offseason. Who should we keep? Who should we move on from? Those questions tend to put some stress on not only the coaching staff but the players and front office as well.

With a well rounded team like this, I’m sure they would like to keep everybody who is not under contract for another year. But the reality of this is, not everybody is promised to return. Unless you’re Dwayne Bowe or Jamaal Charles. Because they would be foolish to let either one to slip through the cracks.

Dexter McCluster may be one of these guys who could be on the bubble. Now according to the Kansas City Star, writer Terez A. Paylor expects the Chiefs to make an effort to bringing him back. But nothing is for certain yet. Teams could be interested one day, but move on the next.

That’s the business side of this league. But if Dexter is cut loose, he won’t have a problem finding a new home. One team who could move in on him if they lose their return man could be the Chicago Bears. He’s someone who can carry the ball out of the back field, line up as a receiver and return kicks/punts without wanting to stay at one position.

Just a thought. What do you think Kansas City Chiefs fans? Keep or dump McCluster?
