The Hawks have been battling since the loss of Al Horford, and are coming off of two huge wins against the Pacers and Rockets. They have been getting nice contributions from Pero Antic and Mike Scott, but on Sunday night against the Grizzlies in Memphis, it wasn’t enough.

Antic was out in this game, and the Hawks were really struggling on offense. They had just 42 points at the half, and the Grizzlies looked good on defense. The game would break open in the second half, and the offenses would explode for a combined 120 points. The ball moved well on both sides, as the Hawks had 25 assists on 38 made baskets, and the Grizzlies had 26 assists on 43 made baskets.

The Grizzlies outrebounded the Hawks by just two (40-38), and the game was close in most departments. Overall, the Grizzlies pulled away in the final period, and would win 108-101. Paul Millsap had 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Hawks, who fell to 20-18.

The Grizzlies had six players in double figures, and were led by Mike Conley, who had 21 points and 13 assists. Courtney Lee has been solid since he was traded from the Celtics to the Grizzlies, and he had 15 points on the night. The Hawks continued to shoot an alarming amount of threes, as they attempted 29, and that’s the way it’s been since Horford was out.
