Ahead of the San Francisco 49ers Wild Card match up against the Green Bay Packers, WWE legend Ric Flair addressed the team. It rubbed Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith was upset that he spurned his hometown Carolina Panthers.
“As a guy who actually has a Ric Flair robe I’m real disappointed in seeing that. Real disappointed,” Smith said Monday, via Tom Sorensen of The Charlotte Observer. “I’m not sure if he’ll get the invite here. That Golden Gate Bridge has been burned.”
Legendary WWE announcer Jim Ross predicted the outcome of the storyline.
From The Buzzer:
Flair will defy a reported arrest warrant in Charlotte by traveling “home” in the most covert of methods, like when rasslin’ fan favorites and their adversaries would travel together back in the day … the passenger would ride in the backseat of the vehicle and be ready to drop out of sight at the first sign of danger. Flair then will covertly meet with the 49ers and again pledge his unrelenting support to San Francisco. Ric likely will break down and cry during this performance if you’re keeping score at home. Harbaugh may even get a little emotional.
We’ll see how close he gets to reality.
