Robert Griffin III hasn’t been heard from much lately, even though the Washington Redskins are going through some pretty aggressive changes in the organization. New head coach Jay Gruden brought up RGIII in his introductory press conference, but there hasn’t been much to talk about when it comes to Griffin’s antics so far this offseason.

Then he responded to his critics on Facebook and the world exploded. Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett jumped in to ridicule RGIII not for responding to his haters, but for doing so on Facebook. Bennett, who is not only the Bears starting tight end but also apparently on the cutting edge of technology, mocked Griffin’s use of the social media site via a different social media site.

It’s true that RGIII’s Facebook rant was lame but the blasting of Facebook is an angle to the story that has taken on new life. The social media site is still a giant, billion dollar business for Mark Zuckerberg, but I guess we shouldn’t expect any extra ad space for Chicago Bears merchandise anytime in the near future.
