Tony Parker scored 27 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed three rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 101-95 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana Monday night.

Tim Duncan added 18 points and nine rebounds and Manu Ginobili scored 14 points for the Spurs.

Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 22 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists and Brian Roberts chipped in 19 points, four assists and four rebounds.

The game was competitive throughout and the final quarter was especially fun.

The Spurs pushed their fourth quarter lead to nine on a Marco Belinelli three-pointer with 9:48 to play in the game, but the Pelicans wouldn’t go away. Darius Miller and Austin Rivers hit back-to-back three-pointers and Davis hit consecutive buckets to cap a 10-0 run and give the Pelicans a one-point lead. The Spurs immediately answered and the two teams traded blows for the rest of the game.

After another Belinelli three gave the Spurs a four-point lead with just over three minutes to play, Roberts answered with a trey of his own. However, Kawhi Leonard added a three on the other end and although Roberts cut the lead back to two on the ensuing possession, the Pelicans never really recovered.

The Spurs are now 30-8 while the Pelicans are just 15-22.
