After a lot of flirting and proverbial heavy petting which included a workout in Los Angeles, the Clippes are expected to finally seal the deal and offer Hedo Turkoglu a contract this week. Since Turkoglu was cut by the Orlando Magic, the Clippers have been pondering the idea of signing him, and according to Arash Markazi from ESPNLosAngeles, a deal could be done before the Clippers hit the road on Thursday.

Borderick Turner from the Los Angeles Times also reported today that Clippers head coach Doc Rivers indicated he’d like to sign Turkoglu sometime soon. Rivers has been vocal about his updates on Turkoglu, first confirming interest in the veteran forward and then confirming that a workout indeed happened last week.

The Clippers weren’t one of the teams initially interested in signing Turkoglu when he was waived by the Magic, but after interest from the Atlanta Hawks and neighboring Los Angeles Lakers died down, the Clippers moved in and now appear ready to sign Turkoglu this week.
