For the second time during their head coaching search, the Cleveland Browns have had a candidate withdraw his name from the search. After Josh McDaniels withdrew his name, Todd Bowles has now done the same thing and told the Browns thanks, but no thanks.

According to Mike Garafolo from FOX Sports, Bowles has told the Browns that he’s withdrawing his name from their search to replace fired head coach Rob Chudzinski.

McDaniels withdrew his name after learning he was no longer the favorite and now Bowles has done the same thing. It’s been widely reported that Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase is the favorite to land the job, and Bowles has decided that he’s not going to be second best if Gase passes.

The Browns are waiting until the Broncos are either eliminated from the playoffs or during the Super Bowl break to interview Gase which tips the Browns hand as to who they’re coveting.
