Rajon Rondo is getting closer to returning for the Celtics, and this could have a knock-on effect on one other member of the team’s roster: Jordan Crawford.

According to Peter Vecsey, the team are close to trading Crawford:

Crawford was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week on December 9th, but his production has dropped dramatically. SB Nation’s Celtics Blog has broken down Crawford’s pre- and post-award stats, and here are the highlights:

  • 2pt%: down from 49.7% to 42.8%
  • 3pt%: down from 40.2% to 22.7%
  • FG%: down from 46.4% to 35.9%

So with Crawford no longer looking like the player he did in early December and Rondo likely to return on Friday, Crawford could be on the way out of Boston. As Vecsey suggests, there is a market for the guard, with the Clippers, Suns, Rockets, and Warriors interested.

Given the Celtic’s willingness to trade away players and purge the team of recognisable talent, Jordan Crawford could soon be suiting up for someone else. Let us know in the comments if you think Crawford should be traded, and where you’d like to see him go.
