UPDATE: Rapoport’s information appeared to be behind, because reports are now surfacing that Zimmer has been named the team’s head coach.

The Minnesota Vikings are still conducting their search to find their next head coach, and Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is considered the favorite to get the job.
Zimmer has been meeting with the Vikings in Minnesota for the past two days and the two sides have had positive meetings, but the team has reportedly yet to offer him a contract offer.
From Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:
#Vikings met all day with Mike Zimmer Mon, are mulling their next move. Offer the job or interview another coach? Yet he’s still in town

No job offer for Mike Zimmer from #Vikings. But it was all positive from both sides. Lot of optimism that he’s the guy. But nothing firm

The good news for Vikings fans who are hoping to have Zimmer on board is that he remains in town.
If there was no belief that he would be given a job offer, he likely would have left town. For now, the Vikings appear to be doing their due diligence.
You would have to consider Zimmer is still the favorite to land the Vikings job, but until an offer is extended and accepted we will have to sit back and patiently wait.
