The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks don’t like each other in the least bit.

Players have expressed a distaste for the opposing sideline. Fans have taken their hatred to extreme levels. And politicians? Well – they’re in on the act too.

According to an AP Photo taken on January 14th of 2014, the Washington State Capitol is using a 49ers jersey as a doormat:

"A man walks across a San Francisco 49ers’ team jersey on the floor of the House Chief Clerk’s office Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in Olympia, Wash."

Ironically enough, the jersey is that of former 49ers quarterback Alex Smith who is of course no longer on the San Francisco roster.

So why an Alex Smith jersey? According to the photo’s caption, office coordinator Greg Payne found the Smith jersey at a local garage sale and decided to purchase it so it could be used to wipe the feet of those entering the Capitol.

I’ve seen a lot of interesting uses for uniforms, but this might be a first.
