Head coach Steve Spurrier has led the South Carolina Gamecocks to three of their four double-digit win seasons in school history, and it appears that the school is now willing to reward him for his efforts.

According to Columbia, South Carolina newspaper The State, Spurrier is set to receive a pay raise that will make him one of the ten highest paid coaches in college football.

The report states that Spurrier will will have his salary raised from $3.3. million to $4 million per year.

Spurrier’s current deal runs through 2017.

The good news for everyone on Spurrier’s current South Carolina staff is that the Gamecocks are expected to provide them all with pay raises.

It is a well-deserved reward for the old ball coach.
