The New York Jets have certainly made their fair share of mistakes over the past few years, but they are attempting to right the ship. On Thursday, the team extended head coach Rex Ryan to a multi-year deal in a move that will give the team a few more years to gel and make an effort to get to the next level, but to truly move forward you need to learn from your past mistakes.

Luckily for Jets fans, the team appears to be doing that.

The biggest blunder that the team has made in recent memory was bringing Tim Tebow to town and setting him up for failure and general manager Mike Tannenbaum admitted that Tebow was a big mistake.

“Obviously we made a couple mistakes -– trading for Tim Tebow most notably,” Tannenbaum said.

New York is also expected to release quarterback Mark Sanchez in the offseason, so they can finally begin to move forward with the quarterback position. Hopefully with the past behind them, Geno Smith can rise to stardom in his second year.
