The Miami Dolphins coaching staff took a hit on Thursday, with news that linebackers coach George Edwards would be leaving the team to join former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer on the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff.
Zimmer was named as the Vikings head coach earlier this week and now he is responsible with filling his staff.
Edwards will become the team’s defensive coordinator.

Edwards has previous experience as a defensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins and Buffalo Bills.
He has also worked with Zimmer in the past, when the two were part of the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff back in 2001.
