Patriots RB Stevan Ridley fined for red shoes

During the AFC Divisional Round match up with the Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns. It was a solid rushing game for Ridley, who was plagued throughout the regular season by fumbles, but it wasn’t all smiles after the win.

Nick Underhill of MassLive.com,Ridley was fined $5,250 as a result of the violation.

The NFL has been cracking down on uniform violations this season, so it isn’t entirely surprising to see the league hand down a fine to Ridley. However, whether or not that stops him from rocking his red kicks again remains to be seen.

If Ridley chooses to wear his red shoes on the road this weekend against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, his fine will double.

That may be enough to convince him to leave the cleats in his locker and go with a different choice of footwear for the game.
