Rajon Rondo returned to the court tonight following a knee injury for the Boston Celtics in their 107-104 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.

Earlier in the day, in anticipation of the return of the star guard, injured Lakers guard Kobe Bryant had some words about Rondo’s return in which he called Rondo and a**hole by offering up, ” It’s frustrating. But from what I understand he’s an a**hole like me, so he’ll manage.”

Well, after tonight’s contest, someone asked Rondo about the words from Kobe, and he answered probably the best way he possibly could, by pretty much firing the shot right back at his counterpart (And friend. Please remember, this was an affectionate jab from Kobe).

I mean, they’re both not wrong, technically. But, we’ve learned throughout history that nice guys finish last, and no one has ever accused either of these competitors of being the nicest men in the world, while they’re two of the best that the sport has to offer.
