Haloti Ngata has decided to stay at home instead of travelling to Hawaii and join the rest of the NFL stars in the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl. It’s a move that will make his wife very happy.

According to BaltimoreRavens.com, Ngata is declining his bid to play in the game due to the fact that he and his wife are expecting their third son on Tuesday.

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher is the beneficiary of Ngata’s decision. This will be Hatcher’s first trip to the Pro Bowl. Ironically, Hatcher just celebrated the arrival of his fourth bundle of joy on Wednesday. The defensive end took to twitter to describe the feeling.

Hatcher had his best year as a pro in 2013, recording 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and 41 total tackles.

Ngata was voted to his fifth straight Pro Bowl after recording 52 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Since this is a non-conference Pro Bowl, the NFC-based Hatcher was able to replace an AFC player.
