While this might not be new information to hardcore Seattle Seahawks fans — or, I suppose, fans who dedicate themselves to following mascots — this story about R yan Asdourian published in The Seattle Times is too good not to share.

See, during the week Asdourian is your average Microsoft employee. However, he has a pretty freakin’ cool one-day-a-week second job: being Blitz, the mascot for the Seattle Seahawks.

Asdourian took the Blitz job in 2006 and hasn’t looked back since. He revealed his double life a couple years ago, but he told The Seattle Times that some of his co-workers still don’t know it’s him they’re seeing on the sidelines on Sundays. In fact, he recently showed up at the office in his Blitz attire and was asked to pose for a photograph by a co-worker who was unaware of Blitz’s real identity.

The whole profile piece is worth reading, so go check it out. You’ll learn about what it takes to be a professional mascot, Asdourian’s charity work, and how his wife found out about his unusual second job.
