There was a report that the Washington Redskins and new head coach Jay Gruden were interested in Dallas Cowboys tight end coach Wes Phillips, son of former Houston Texans defesnive coordinator and Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips.

From the Washington Post:

"The Washington Redskins are interested in Dallas Cowboys tight ends coach Wes Phillips as a possible replacement for their tight ends coach, Sean McVay, who was elevated to offensive coordinator.A person familiar with the situation confirmed an ESPN report that Phillips is expected to interview with the Redskins. According to that report, Phillips’s contract with the Cowboys is expiring."

Apparently the Redskins did in fact hire Wes. Excited about the news, Wade might have broken the news about his son being hired by the club.

Either way it is an interesting move by the Redskins as they fill out their coaching staff.
