In today’s AFC Championship Game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots, as much as you might want to point to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as the proverbial x-factors, the running games are equally as important in crucial games like these.
In the second quarter, Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno proved that once again.
With the Broncos back up to start their drive inside their own 10-yard like, Manning handed the ball off to his main man Moreno in the backfield, who gashed his way through the New England defense to not only pick up the first down, but give his offense and Manning a little more room to work.
Knowshon Moreno will be just as important in this one as either of the quarterbacks will be. Once Denver can get that running game going, then it’ll be smooth sailing for Manning and the Broncos.
Although, you would have to expect that Belichick will put something together to stop this running game before it really gets going and his team is put in some real danger.
