NBA Trade Rumors: Detroit Pistons expected to be active at trade deadline

The NBA trade deadline is still about a month away, but there are teams already looking at potential options when it comes to being active when the day rolls around. The Detroit Pistons are one of the teams expected to be active when the deadline comes and fans will be eager to see if their team makes a move that wakes the lethargic core.

This is news that fans will want to hear, as they’ve grown frustrated with another group of players failing to gel together. The biggest name that fans are looking at when it comes to trade rumors is Josh Smith, who could very well be on his way out of Detroit in his first year with the team.

From publicly stating he could care less about shooting statistics to just not looking as good as fans thought he would, Smith is the most likely candidate to be moved in a trade. A possible hangup in a Smith trade though is the fact that he just signed a contract with the team in the offseason, and the front office may not want to bail on him yet.

Detroit needs to do something to rejuvenate their roster and it appears that making a trade is the easiest way to do that.

There’s no way they trade Josh Smith, he is signed to a 4 year deal. They’ll use the lower players for leverage. Smith next to Jennings is our best player

If Vomit Shot Smith is their best player, they’d be 0-fer. Detroit needs to fire Joe Dumbass, and then his successor can drop Vomit Smith.

Greg Monroe has turned into a real stiff this season. He looks thinner, still can not jump and he seemly can not guard other power forwards. He has no 15 foot shott and looses the ball driving many times however he has improved lately. He will want a max contract and he is just not worth it. Trade him before he sticks to the Pistons forever. With Monroe gone maybe room will be freed up for Smith.
