Boston Celtics’ point guard Rajon Rondo returned from his ACL injury on Friday night.

Now that he is back on the court, the trade speculation continues to grow. “More than a few” general managers think Rondo will be traded and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets are two potential suitors.

At times, it seems inevitable that Rondo will be traded.

According to Sam Smith off Bulls.com, that isn’t the case.

"It sounds more and more like with Rajon Rondo’s return and a ceremonial bestowing of captaincy the Celtics plan to keep Rondo and try to get him to extend. It makes sense given the importance of point guards. More executives think the Celtics want to trade Jeff Green. They’re probably trying to persuade someone to take Gerald Wallace along with Green, though many figure they’ll eventually move Green."

Smith suggest the Celtics try to move Wallace and Green and acquire Rockets’ center Omer Asik and build around Asik and Rondo.

Green, who is still just 27 years old, is averaging 15.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season.

Rondo is averaging 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 20 minutes per game this season.
