The New England Patriots want running back LeGarrette Blount back and they likely want fellow free agent and wide receiver Julian Edelman to return as well.

We know Tom Brady does.

The quarterback gushed over his top wide receiver on Monday morning, a day after the Patriots lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship. Brady praised Edelman’s work ethic and desire to play through injury, saying he was proud of his teammate.

"“He had an incredible season,” said Brady. “No one could have ever predicted what he could accomplish for our team. I mean, he was one guy that was so consistent and dependable for us. I’m just proud of him because of his mental toughness and maturity and his work ethic. He spent a lot of time watching over the last four years. And to finally get an opportunity where he could be an every-down player, and the way he contributed to our team, especially in a game like yesterday where he made so many great plays for us, it was great to see."

Edelman had a fantastic season and did so often times behind Danny Amendola, hauling in 105 catches for 1,056 yards and securing ten touchdowns.

Brady went on to suggest that Edelman is one of his ‘best pals’ and says he ‘deserves the best’.
