Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman caused a scene as the NFC Championship by confronting San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree and then ranting on live television during an interview. The Seahawks almost faced the New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady, who Sherman has a history with for a similar incident.

Given his first hand experience with Sherman, Brady weighed in on the incident while talking to WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan on Monday.

“He’s that kind of guy,” Brady said, via Doug Kyed at NESN. “So, you know. I approach the game — and I have respect for my opponents. That’s the way our team always plays. We win with graciousness, and when we lose, we could do better.”

If the Patriots had made it to the Super Bowl, the Brady-Sherman angle would have been very intriguing. It will be interesting to see how Sherman approaches Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
