The Sacramento Kings kicked off the NBA trade season earlier this year when they locked down the first big move of the season. When the Kings acquired Rudy Gay from the Toronto Raptors, it signaled the beginning of a trade season that has seen teams like the Celtics and Heat get involved as well as players like Jeryyd Bayless and Joel Anthony move to new teams.

Trade aren’t done being discussed or completed and the Kings aren’t done making deals. According to Chad Ford in an ESPN Insider’s piece breaking down his ‘Tank Rankings’, GMs around the NBA are saying that the Kings remain very active in trying to pull off another trade before the deadline.

Who the Kings would trade for is one debate but who they’d trade away to make a deal happen is another. They gave up a lot to get Rudy Gay from the Raptors and if they wanted to pull off another brig trade that lands them a big name, Sacramento may have to start parting with core pieces like DeMarcus Cousins and others.

There’s no guarantee that the Kings will indeed make another move before the deadline, but it if they don’t make another trade, it certainly won’t be for a lack of trying.
