The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in the United States and as a result the ticket prices for attending ‘The Big Game’ have been as high as the skyscrapers in New York City.

Having said that, the cold weather in East Rutherford, New Jersey where Super Bowl XLVIII will be played in the new home of the New York Giants and New York Jets is seeing ticket prices dropping on Stubhub.

Now, $2,985 is not going to be confused for a bargain any time soon, however it could be a sign that fans are less-than-enthused about the prospect of a Super Bowl in a cold weather city in the dead of winter.

The average high for Feb. 2, the day of the Super Bowl, is 39 degrees with an average low of 20. That doesn’t account for snowfall as there could be a wintry mix when the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks kick off.

Would the median price be dropping if the game were in San Diego, New Orleans or Florida?
