Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala is a bit of a unique character. He’s also a San Francisco 49ers fan.

Clearly not thrilled with the outcome of the NFC Championship game between his 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, Iguodala made some questionable comments on Twitter after the game which included suggesting ‘we just got sent back 500 years’ in regards to Richard Sherman‘s interview.

Iggy said that was nothing more than a playful jab though, telling Bay Area Sports Guy he was simply joking and that he likes Sherman.

"I’m more of a dry sense of humor type of guy, so I’m just having fun with it. I’m actually a fan of Richard Sherman’s just because of his background, environment, where he’s from. He’s a very intelligent African-American. I’m a big fan of his. I was just joking around with the situation. We’re in this day and age, where whatever you say can be taken out of context. It can be as simple as the word “happy.” So that’s what it basically is, it’s nothing deeper than that"

Hard to tell if Iguodala was being serious that it was a joke or something more, but it’s a clear sign that athletes need to stay off Twitter if they can’t handle their wins and losses.
