Super Bowl 48: Odds set for Peyton Manning passing yards total
By Josh Hill
The Super Bowl is a week from Sunday, meaning all the last minute betting is starting to pile up for those who have yet to place their bets. The odds are continuing to come in and they’re coming in for just about every aspect of the game. The latest odds are for the total passing yards that Peyton Manning will throw, and this one seems like an easy one to bet on.
According to oddsmaker William Hill, via ProFootballTalk.com, the over/under on Manning’s passing yards in Super Bowl XLVIII is set at 323.5 yards.
What this means is the majority of those betting on this will take the under, as the highest total passing yards the Seattle Seahawks defense gave up all season long was 355 against the Houston Texans. In addition to that, only Drew Brees has thrown for over 300 yards against the Seahawks this year.
Take into account their stout defense plus the likelihood that frigid weather may slow the passing game, and you have a lot of people thinking 323.5 yards is going to be tough to get to, even for Manning. Still, Manning there for over 400 yards last week against the New England Patriots and two quarterbacks have thrown for over 300 yards against the Seahawks this season.
The question now is, will Manning become the third?
