The Auburn Tigers are the latest team to offer five-star quarterback recruit Torrance Gibson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla. American Heritage), the 6-4, 200-pound quarterback now has more than 20 offers from among the nation’s top programs.

With offers from nearly 20 schools, including the Alabama Crimson Tide, Miami Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, among others Gibson will have his pick of the litter when he makes his decision on where to play his college football.

Gibson is the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, No. 29 overall recruit and the No. 7 recruit in the Sunshine State. Gibson passed for 1,789 yards and 19 touchdowns to only three interceptions this season while also adding 1,063 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 111 carries.

Gibson has worked as a wide receiver early in his high school career and on the camp circuit but is being recruited as a quarterback.

Auburn is in good shape at the quarterback position in the short and long term with Gus Malzahn and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee faring well on the recruiting trail over the past year and a half.

The Tigers return Nick Marshall, who could be a darkhorse Heisman candidate, rising sophomore Jeremy Johnson, incoming freshman Sean White was the Elite 11 MVP and have a commitment from 2015 four-star Tyler Queen.

Because of the quality and quantity at this position, it may be difficult for Auburn to keep him away form his other suitors, notably Ohio State, Florida, LSU and Miami, but it’s very early in the process still and you can never rule out this staff after what they did on and off the field this past calendar year.
