Chalk up another NFL persona who’s not exactly feeling the cold weather Super Bowl.

Legendary head coach and current ESPN football analyst Mike Ditka let his feelings be known on the game, suggesting that the NFL made a mistake and that the cold weather aspect is ‘stupid’.

"“The weather’s going to be a problem,” Ditka told the Free Press. “They made a big mistake. The game shouldn’t be there. I mean, it’s stupid.”"

No punches were held there.

So why does Ditka have a problem with the venue? He doesn’t believe players will be able to play up to their normal standards in cold/wet/rainy/snowy weather.

"“You’re not going to be able to perform at near the level you’re used to. And the element of luck comes into it, and it shouldn’t happen in that game. That game should be based on the people on the field who make the plays.”"

In regards to the weather and the temperatures, Ditka does have a point as there are players who don’t perform as well in cold conditions. But stupid? I don’t know if I’d go that far.

It’ll certainly be interesting for views at home.
